Theme Parks in California
Tourists flock California for more reasons than one. California has many recreational spots. Among these are amusement and theme parks, zoos and water parks. It’s a place not only for kids but for the whole family to enjoy.
Just like Florida, Disneyland has its presence in Anaheim, California. There are two major parks, namely Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure Park. You can also watch Disney’s Parade of Dreams along Main Street and enjoy the beautiful fireworks in the evening. For the younger crowd, they can watch Playhouse Disney live on stage. There’s also the one of a kind, Disney’s Electrical Parade which is a spectacular display of floats illuminated by beautiful lights. Just near the theme parks is the Downtown Disney District where you can go shopping, eat out or even enjoy different forms of entertainment. It’s a must see for the whole family. It is conveniently located near the hotels of Disneyland Resort. Accommodation shouldn’t be a problem since there are 37 hotels neighboring Disneyland Resort as well as Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and Disneyland Hotel respectively.
Just near San Diego California, you will find Legoland. Inspired by Lego, the park has over 50 different rides and attractions for the youngest to the oldest family member. The theme park brags of attractions like The Beginning, Castle Hill, Land of Adventure, Imagination Zone, Dino Island, Explore Village, Fun Town, Pirate Shores and Miniland USA. Throughout the park you will see life size Lego models both stationary and moving. There is also a retail outlet in the park premises called The Big Shop. Here you can buy the widest range of Lego merchandise in the 8,000 square feet store. If you choose to stay for a few days you can choose among the several hotels in the area affiliated with the Legoland Bed and Brick Preferred Hotels.
Another theme park you can visit is California’s Great America, located in Santa Clara, just near San Francisco. The park has 11 thrill rides, for the more daring guests. The newest addition to the thrill rides is the Fire Fall. There are also 13 family rides for the whole family to experience. Your favorite Nikelodeon cartoon characters come to life at Nikelodeon Central. Here you can enjoy different rides inspired by different Nikelodeon characters and even have your picture taken with them. Great America also has an Australian themed area called Boomerang Bay. It promises to give you a taste of the Gold Coast right in California.
In Los Angeles, there’s Universal Studios Hollywood. The newest attraction you can find here is based on the TV series The Simpsons. There are other well followed rides like Revenge of the Mummy, which is a thrilling roller coaster ride and Jurrasic Park which is an 80-foot raft plunge. For the kids, there’s also Shrek 4-D, which is an adventure with Shrek and Donkey. You can also go behind the scenes of some movies and TV shows such as “Desperate Housewives” and “The War of the Worlds”. All this is possible if you join the Studio Tour. To top it all off you can visit the Universal City Walk where shopping and dining is a always a pleasure.
